I bought this book recently from Antelope Books. It's a big paperback from 1968 and the cover price says $2.95! Nowadays, such a book would easily be $13Cdn, or more. It's a collection of 25 pieces about California - from lifestyle to politics. In fact, there is also a piece by Carey McWilliam, of The Nation, whose idea it was to turn HST's Hell's Angels piece into a full-length book. That is the piece that is included in this volume. I originally bought the book for HST, but discovered that the other authors were just as good :-) Today, I would imagine that this book would represent a great deal of foresight, or hindsight, on Californians.
