I almost gave up trying to find a reasonably priced copy of this book. Doing a search on Alibris revealed a number of copies, most around $100US. Man, I thought, this book must be extra freaking special!
Finally I located a copy, with a dustjacket, for a mere $20US (thanks Mitch!). This dandy book turned out to be in better shape than it was advertised, possibly due to the fact the original seller had given it to one of his employees to sell. Published in 1979 by St. Martin's Press, this collection edited by Duncan Fallowell contains a number of stories, including "The Dinner" by Thomas Love Peacock, "Dr. Heidegger's Experiment" by Nathaniel Hawthorne, "The Cask of Amontillado" by Edgar Allan Poe and "Enoch Soames" by Max Beerbohm. Hardly the kind of works you would expect "The Heat Closing In" by William S. Burroughs to be surrounded by. HST's part is called "A Night on the Town" , the part from FLLV where HST describes his encounter with an acid guru, when he lived near Michael Olay.
