Hammond (1910-1987) was one of the most prolific discoverers of jazz talent as well as a producer of jazz records and events. A scion of the Vanderbilt family, he grew up in a New York City mansion and began attending jazz clubs at an early age. He became a recognized proponent of civil rights through his promotion of African-American jazz artists. Extensive discography, pp.177-278.

Issued in this edition upon the occasion of Lotus's successful initial offering on the OTC stock market, fall 1983, as a gift to friends of Lotus and the (then) new integrated software product. Size of edition is unknown, but believed by me to be fewer than 500 copies. This copy very rare; most were probably used, discarded, and therefore no longer existant. High spot in new genre of collectibles.
