Winter 1990 - The year barely begins when HST is charged with assault and possession of drugs and explosives after a disastrous meeting with Gail Palmer-Slater. Palmer-Slater, a porn-star turned ophthamalogist's wife, allegedly had her breast tweaked by HST. Police search Owl Farm for 11 hours. HST is later acquitted.
Fall 1990 - Songs of the Doomed is published by Simon & Schuster.
1991-1992 - The gonzo biographers chase HST, with E. Jean Carroll's Hunter being the first out of the gate.
January, 1992 - "Fear and Loathing in Elko" appears in Rolling Stone. It is HST's first
1994 - HST's youngest brother Jim dies from AIDS complications.
Fall 1996 - Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas is released by Margaritaville Records. It is a spoken word, abridged version of the book.
Spring 1997 - The Proud Highway is published by Villard. It's the first of a planned three volume series of HST's personal letters. The book gets rave reviews and HST goes on the talk show circuit to the delight of his fans.
1998 - HST's grandson Will is born.
May 22, 1998 - Gonzo fans rejoice as the film version of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas hits the big screen with Johnny Depp as Raoul Duke.
1999 - HST's mother Virginia passes away.
1999 - Gonzo fans are teased mercilessly once again with rumors of Rum Diary movie and the publication of Polo is My Life.
